Russian Engineers Assembling Zarya Cargo Module for ISS
Russian engineers are meticulously working on the Functional Cargo Block (Zarya), destined for the International Space Station (ISS). This component was crucially funded by the United States and crafted in Russia at Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center. Thorough pre-launch tests are being conducted to ensure its readiness before its launch on November 20, 1998, by a Russian Proton rocket from the Baikonu Cosmodrome. This versatile supply module (Zarya or 'Sunrise' in Russian) became the very first piece of the ISS's extensive framework.
