Engine Installation on S-IB Stage at Michoud Assembly Facility
Workers at the Michoud Assembly Facility near New Orleans, Louisiana, are installing an engine on the S-IB stage. The S-IB stage, developed by Marshall Space Flight Center and produced by Chrysler Corporation, features eight H-1 engines for a combined thrust of 1,600,000 pounds. This image can be used to depict rocket science, engineering, spaceflight history, manufacturing processes, and the aerospace industry.
