What Is Free Licensing?
Under our free licensing model you may download the images without paying and use the images in your works entirely free of charge.
- How Can I Use Images?
Images under the free licensing terms can be used for personal and even commercial usage.
- Attribution is not required, however we do encourage users to give credit where possible.
- One key restriction is that identifiable people may not appear in a bad light or in a way that they may find offensive (unless of course you actually have written permission from them for this usage). More on these restrictions can be seen under our licensing terms.
- You should also not use images with identifiable brand names, property, logos, copyrighted or trade-marked material for commercial advertising. Editorial usage is generally okay as long as it is for news worthy purposes.
- What Is The Difference Between The CCO and The Free Licensing?
The difference between the CCO and the Free licensing is very little in terms of how it affects you. The key difference is that under the free licensing the photographer has given the right for the images to be given away for free but retains the copyright. In CC0 licensing the copyright has been waived however under free image licensing the images are still copyrighted but are being allowed to be used for zero payment.
