Ponytail Palm (botanical name: Beaucarnea recurvata).
Despite its common name and palm-like appearance, it is actually a succulent and a member of the Asparagus family, closely related to agaves and yuccas.

The Trunk: The most distinct feature is the thick, textured trunk that resembles an elephant's foot (another common name for it). This swollen base (caudex) is used by the plant to store water, making it very drought-tolerant.

It has long, slender, strap-like leaves that grow in a fountain-like "ponytail" from the top of the stem.
The bark has a distinctive "corky" or "scaly" texture
